About Me

Who is Yukophotography?

I am a street photographer documenting everyday life across China, Vietnam, Cyprus, Turkey and other destinations through candid photography.

Where are you based?

I am currently based in China and travel extensively to capture authentic street moments.

What camera do you use?

Most of my photographs are taken with a Fujifilm X-Pro3 and Fujinon prime lenses.

Why do you shoot street photography?

Street photography allows me to document real Life, Human emotions, and the stories hidden in everyday moments.

What is street photography?

For me Street photography is the Art of capturing unposed moments of Everyday Life in public spaces.

Do you ask people for permission before taking photos?

Most street photographs are candid and captured naturally, respecting local laws and cultural norms.China — all OK. In Europe in my experience — need to ask…

What settings do you use for street photography?

I usually work with aperture priority mode, fast shutter speeds, and natural light. Or u can check my examples and settings here.

What lenses do you use?

My favorite lenses include the Fujifilm 35mm F2, 56mm F1.2, and 16mm F2.8.

Do you edit your photos?

Yes, I perform basic color correction and adjustments while maintaining the authenticity of the scene. I use DXO Pl or Lightroom.

Is Street Photography Legal in China?

Yes, street photography is generally legal in China, especially when photographs are taken in public spaces such as streets, parks, markets, and public squares. However, photographers should respect privacy, avoid photographing sensitive government or military facilities, and be mindful when capturing close-up portraits of individuals.

As a street photographer, I have photographed daily life across many Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Shanghai, Foshan, Jiangmen, and Qingdao. Most people are curious rather than hostile, making China one of the most fascinating countries for documentary and street photography.

Why is China Great for Street Photography?

China offers an incredible mix of traditional culture, rapid urban development, vibrant markets, historic neighborhoods, and unique human interactions. From busy night markets to quiet village streets, every city presents endless opportunities for capturing authentic moments of everyday life.

Is the Fujifilm X-Pro3 Good for Street Photography?

The Fujifilm X-Pro3 is one of the best cameras for street photography.

Its rangefinder-style design, compact size, and discreet appearance make it ideal for photographing candid moments without attracting attention. The hybrid optical and electronic viewfinder allows photographers to react quickly while maintaining awareness of their surroundings.

The X-Pro3 also delivers exceptional image quality, bBeautiful Fujifilm color science, and film simulations that suit documentary and street photography perfectly.

Why Do I Use the Fujifilm X-Pro3?

I use the Fujifilm X-Pro3 because it encourages a slower and more thoughtful approach to photography. Its compact body allows me to blend into the environment while exploring cities throughout China and beyond. 

What Lens Is Best for Street Photography?

There is no single perfect lens for street photography, but some focal lengths have become classics because they closely match how we naturally see the world.

So for me the Best Street lens is 35mm F2 

Travel Photography

Which cities in China are best for street photography?

Some of my favorites include Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Jiangmen, Shanghai, and Qingdao. In Europe — Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca and Chisinau (Moldova)

What is the best time for street photography?

Early mornings, late afternoons (GOLDEN HOUR), and night markets often provide the most interesting scenes and lighting.

How do you find photography locations?

I explore neighborhoods on foot and often avoid tourist hotspots to discover authentic local life. Sometimes just from Google Maps 😃

Selected photographs may be available as fine art prints. Please contact me for availability

Can I use your photos on my website or publication?

All images are copyrighted. Licensing is available upon request.

Do you offer commercial photography services?

Yes, I am available for editorial, commercial, tourism, and documentary photography projects. The main thing is that it is interesting.
