Dongmen Street Food Photography in Shenzhen
Dongmen is one of the most vibrant places in Shenzhen, where the aromas of grilled kebabs, freshly cooked noodles, roasted chestnuts, and traditional Chinese snacks fill the air from morning until late at night. While strolling the bustling food streets, I focused on capturing authentic moments of interaction between vendors and customers, the vibrant colors of local delicacies like fried spiders, and the unique atmosphere that defines Shenzhen’s street food culture.
These images, taken with a Fujifilm X-Pro3 and the renowned Fujinon 56mm F1.2 lens, highlight the fine details, excellent background separation, and natural light typical of Dongmen’s bustling markets. The 56mm focal length allowed me to isolate subjects while maintaining the character of the surrounding environment, creating a visual story that reflects both the food and the people behind it.
This series of photographs is part of my ongoing street photography project documenting everyday life, urban culture and local traditions throughout China using Fujifilm cameras.
