Huangyao Ancient City (ι»„ε§šε€ι•‡)

So let me tell you about my trip to this city, starting with its history. Located in the northeastern part of Zhaoping County, Hezhou City, Guangxi Province, is the ancient city of Huangyao. Lots of old buildings and a very atmospheric place, this place is perfect for immersing yourself in history and enjoying the silence (if you are there early in the morning, of course).

So what about the tickets?

Entrance fees and charges

- Entrance fee: 88 yuan (I personally paid)

- Guided tour: 60 yuan (worth it to learn the stories behind these attractions)

- Parking: 5 yen for small cars, 10 yuan for large ones

Opening hours

7:30–18:00

And the most interesting thing is how to get there? Personally, I went from Guangzhou. First, trains and Guangdou Nan to Hezhou and from there, a taxi πŸš•

How to get there?

Getting to Huangyao is quite simple, there are several options depending on where you start:

- By plane: Fly to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, and then take a bus or train to Huangyao.

- By train: First get to Nanning or Guilin, and then take a bus or train to the city.

- By bus: If you are coming from Guangzhou, there is a direct bus that will take you straight to Huangyao.

- By taxi: The trip from Hezhou costs about 130 yuan, plus 25 yuan for the highway toll. Tip: Use Didi to get a discount and save some money.

Self-driving: If you’re driving, don’t worry β€” there’s parking right in town.

Best Time to Visit

Visit between late September and early November. The weather is perfect and you’ll find plenty of fresh fruit to snack on while wandering the streets.

Insider Tip

In my experience, if you want to experience the magic of the city without the crowds, get there really early β€” like 6am. It’s quiet, the views are spectacular, and you might even get in before the ticket office opens. Just don’t tell anyone, okay?

Huangyao Ancient Town is a gem, perfect for a relaxing day of sightseeing. Bring your camera and get ready to fall in love with this timeless place! And I will share with you the photos that I took! Enjoy viewing!
